DEEP WATERS Youth Spectacular 2016 Greetings Parish and School leaders and chaperones of Youth Spectacular 2016! Thank you for the work that you have done to prepare and bring a group to Deep Waters of Mercy on Saturday, February 6th at St. Mary’s University. Below you will find some suggestions for a successful day: Venue o St. Mary’s University: One Camino Santa Maria, San Antonio, TX 78228. Enter off of 36th Street or Culebra Rd. We will gather at the Greehey Arena, the place where the main events of the Assembly were held. o Schedule o Doors open at 7:30am and the event starts at 9:00am. Our day will conclude with the celebration of Mass with Archbishop Gustavo beginning at 5:00pm. Packet Pick-up, Registration Changes and Registration Payment o Materials are available for early pick up at the Pastoral Center: 2718 W Woodlawn on Wednesday, February 3rd and Thursday, February 4th from 10am-4pm. Leaders can pick up their t-shirts and wristbands for their group at this time. o Materials can be picked up at the event. The leader responsible for the group will pick up t-shirts and wristbands inside the Greehey Arena from tables that are designated by deanery. o Additions can be handled onsite on February 6th in the Auxiliary Gym where packet pick up is taking place. o Payment is due prior to packet pick-up. Refunds are no longer possible at this point. Please note that the total participants registered (x $20) is the total fee due. Substitutions can be made at your discretion. o We kindly remind you to bring your registration payment check or cash for your group’s registration to the event, if you haven’t paid already. Liability o Group leaders and chaperones must bring completed permission slips and medical permission to treat forms to the Youth Spectacular. These forms can be accessed here. Chaperones will carry these at the event. o Chaperones are responsible for the young people present all day. If parents are dropping or picking up their child at St. Mary’s, this must take place in front of the arena. Chaperones must be present when youth are arriving and dismissing. Please communicate this to parents. Meals o We suggest that participants eat breakfast prior to attending the Spectacular. Box lunches are included in your registration fee. Concessions stands will be available for a light breakfast before 9am and after lunch. Vendors o Our keynote speaker, Chris Padgett, and lead musicians, the Dave Moore Band, will have vendor tables available for merchandise purchases. Preparation o Although the day’s events are scheduled in the arena and adjacent rooms in that same building, be sure to note the weather for the day. o Upload your group’s Service Project proposal video by emailing it to: YouthSpectacular2016@gmail.com. Then go and vote for your favorite here: YOUTH SPECTACULAR YOUTUBE CHANNEL. The Contest Rules of the Service Project Video Contest can be downloaded here. There is still time to submit your entry.
