Old Business VII. New Business VIII. Community Discussion – What are your thoughts about getting a new sorority? -Beneficial, open doors for more girls to go Greek, give girls another option to fit in, make our community bigger -For Greek week and homecoming it would make pairings easier and more interesting -A lot of girls don’t get into a sorority for recruitment but would cause problems with Greek housing…. If Greek village happened it would be cool because they might have a spot there -Fraternities starting to outweigh sororities -Talk to your chapters about this – we tried last fall and it didn’t pass. It is really hard to bring a new Panhellenic sorority to campus. It is a long process and was a close vote last fall and we decided we weren’t ready. Good idea to bring up the topic with your chapters again. Almost getting to the point where you don’t know every girl in your chapter – once you get to about 150 girls it is hard to have a true sisterhood. It would be helpful to our Greek dynamic. House total went from 80 to 106 as a result of the voting last fall. The total was calculated using average of all sororities. Bringing a new chapter to campus will keep us from getting too big. IX.
