CELL MODEL PROJECT Today, you will be using your knowledge of the cell to make a model of a cell. You will have two different formats to choose from. Each will be worth a test grade. This is a great opportunity to raise your grade! Your model choices are: I. II. Create a model of a cell using a paper plate and “arts and crafts” materials Create a poster of a cell using large paper and pencils/markers or arts & crafts materials In both cases, you may choose either a plant or an animal cell. You must indicate on the project which cell you chose. You must include the following: PLANT CELL Cell Wall Ribosomes Cell Membrane Rough ER Nucleus Smooth ER Mitochondria Chloroplasts Vacuole ANIMAL CELL Cell Membrane Ribosomes Nucleus Rough ER Mitochondria Smooth ER Lysosomes Vacuole If you are doing a poster, you must include functions of each organelle either on the front of the poster or on the back. If you are doing the paper plate model, you must include functions of each organelle either on the back of the paper plate, or on “flags”. Cells must be neat and colorful. Your name must be on the back of the project. Rubric: Requirement Title (Which cell are you modeling?)
