Job Description The Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) group is looking for a Business Systems consultant to act as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. Prepares specifications for system changes. Recommends and initiates systems testing. Acts as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Responsibilities specific to the Capital Markets Operational Data Store (CMODS) group: Participate in efforts to build out effective on-platform operational and analytical solutions for the Capitals Markets Finance Accounting Controls and Analytics (CMFACA) business users. • Participate in business requirement reviews • Provide key analytical and technical expertise in identification, evaluation and development of technology solutions that meet business requirements • Identify and document high level and detailed project deliverables for medium to complex projects, including business requirements, functional specification (design), data mapping, metadata, view definition (including SQL) to meet data needs for analytic users • Develop project cost estimates based on business requirements • Provide support as needed to designers and developers as they create solutions based on requirements and functional specifications • Participate in project meetings and various coordination activities • Support customer relations in tracking issues and analysis in resolving problems and communications • Research and evaluate alternative business solutions • Partner with the business partner, IT, QA, and other groups in Enterprise Data and Analytic, as appropriate, throughout the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation process • Work with testing team to assist in determining the most appropriate source to validate against • Maintain and ensure that Metadata and internal documentation is updated as a result of project implementations and business and data analysis • Document and coordinate the change control process • Ensure role related tasks are appropriately defined on project plan • Provide user support as needed, including communication on changes to environment and data integrity anomalies and issues • Support Data Quality research efforts as needed • Follow established internal processes and adhere to SDLC policies • Analyze and resolve production defects, monitor the production schedule, and participate in the resolution of issues as they come through the CDTS process • Manage Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Operating Level Agreements (OLA). Provide concise, clear and organized documentation to users Basic Qualifications 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis and/or design. Minimum Qualifications Excellent communication (verbal, written and visual) skills are required for interactions with both business end-users and technology resources. This job requires the translation of complex business processes into automated technical solutions. Conversely, highly technical information must be presented to business users in an understandable/conceptual format. Strong problem-solving skills, demonstrates the ability to research options to identify the best solution. This individual should be a self-starter capable of learning new skills easily.
