CCC Alexander Gallery shows ‘Kerplunk’

OREGON CITY – “Kerplunk,” an exhibition of recent work by Richard Keely, opens Feb. 18 in the

Alexander Gallery at CCC and runs through March 18. An artist’s reception will be held Thursday, Feb.

18, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The artist will speak about his work at 1 p.m.

The exhibition showcases sculptural works made from a variety of media, including casting materials and found objects. Keely makes sculpture through process and material exploration. While deliberate and meticulous, his process is dependent on the discovery and surprises that can make the familiar mysterious and fresh.

Keely is a visual artist living and working in San Diego, Calif. He received a Master of Fine Arts from

San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts from California State University. He is currently an associate professor of Art at San Diego State University. His work has been avidly shown throughout the

United States and Canada.

The Alexander Gallery is located in the Niemeyer Center at Clackamas Community College’s Oregon

City Campus. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of campus holidays. Exhibitions are open to the public, and there is no cost to attend. For more information, contact
