Job Description Job details Job Title: Department: Role reports to: (Managers Job Title) Job Description author: Date: Location: Number (HR use): Key Account Manager Food & Drink Wales Sustainable Food Systems & Technical Development Programme Area Manager – Food Waste Prevention in Wales Hugh Jones November 2015 Cardiff 842 Job purpose - overview To work with the Programme Area Manager to assist in the delivery of the Wales Food Waste Prevention Programme (WFWPP). The Key Account Manager (KAM) will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to review and deliver sector specific plans and initiatives in support of the WFWPP. This will involve the development of strong working relationships with a range of specified sector stakeholders at both executive and operational levels. The role will support the development, planning, management and delivery of WRAP’s work with the retail, food & drink, hospitality, tourism and 3rd sectors in Wales and for monitoring and reporting on the outcomes and outputs achieved. The range of sectors and stakeholders in Wales dictates that there will be a small number of key accounts but numerous other stakeholders that will require managing effectively. The job holder will be familiar with WRAP’s values and carry out their responsibilities in accordance with them Core accountabilities 1. Develop and plan projects as an integrated part of the WFWPP. 2. Work closely with Project Managers to develop project plans, with SMART objectives for project and contract management. 3. Establish good working relationships with key relevant stakeholders (mostly businesses and 3rd Sector organisations) in order to influence stakeholders to act and secure support for WRAP’s objectives. 4. Where relevant, recruit and manage a portfolio of signatories to a voluntary agreement or WRAP sector initiative, and secure their commitment to delivery of the agreement targets. 5. Drawing on WRAP’s resources, tools, expertise and research, to help embed change within relevant stakeholders to improve resource efficiency and reduce waste. 6. Keep up to date with relevant market knowledge, developments and trends in the sector, as well as up to date on major stakeholders within your portfolio. 7. Provision of appropriate support and advice to signatories and/or relevant stakeholders directly or via our technical advisors/colleagues. 8. Where relevant, ensure that signatories can, and do, report fully against any voluntary agreement targets in a timely manner. 9. Provide excellent customer service to relevant stakeholders and signatories utilise processes and systems to ensure engagement is clearly recorded. 10.Work with, and support, colleagues to help the marketing and communication support for WRAP’s work with stakeholders, e.g. the development of case studies, digital communications, events etc 11.Provide coordination and support to other teams who may be engaged with common stakeholders within your portfolio. Updating any stakeholder system or database as required. Thereby identifying opportunities to transfer learning and for efficient knowledge management. 12.Contribute to the preparation and development of monthly progress reports, impact monitoring data and quarterly reports as required. 13.Contribute to conferences, seminars, workshops, reports and publications as appropriate. 14.Undertake work with other relevant programmes or sector teams within and outside WRAP as and when required.
