Job purpose - overview
To develop and lead the development and delivery of WRAP programmes for the key
funders in Wales.
To build and maintain excellent relationships with key Government funders to ensure
that WRAP’s Business Plan is achieved in Wales.
The post-holder will be fully accountable for the WRAP delivery to Wales
Government.
Core accountabilities
Lead the development, negotiation and agreement of programme proposals to
key government funders in Wales.
As lead liaison, develop strong working relationships with Welsh government
funders and to ensure that WRAP continues/increases its delivery activities.
Monitor performance of the programmes to ensure that they continually deliver
significant impacts for our funders at the lowest possible cost which secure their
support for current and future programme proposals.
Provide structure and focus for the programme. Plan and secure the necessary
staff, skills and financial resources. Through liaising ensure cross team working to
deliver the programme effectively and efficiently.
Provide leadership to the programme: direct, coach, delegate and empower
others both directly from the Wales Team and across WRAP to continue the high
level of delivery commitment for the funder.
Promote partnerships with other organisations and WRAP colleagues to ensure
deliver to the Business Plan.
Contribute to WRAP’s corporate goals by driving cross-WRAP working, developing
new opportunities for WRAP, saving money, minimising duplication and
improving the way WRAP works.

Job essentials









Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrable track record of success working in relevant industrial, business or
environmental sector, delivering complex multi-stakeholder programmes gained
in the private, public or social enterprise sector.
Proven account management or equivalent ability.
Proven ability to utilise creative thinking to deliver innovative solutions.
Good understanding of the economics of the waste and recycling market and
wider recycling policy developments in Wales.
Previous people management experience.
Successfully managed substantial budgets.
Good negotiating and influencing skills.
Strong interdisciplinary and team working skills.
