Description:
Successful candidates will be asked to work as Clean Team Ambassadors and will help to enhance the
quality-of-life and cleanliness within an urban business improvement district.
Clean Team Ambassadors will be expected to perform the following job tasks:




Litter removal from public areas, such as, sidewalks, curb-lines and parking lots using manual
tools and equipment
Graffiti, poster and sticker removal from public amenities and utilities, such as telephone boxes,
light poles, benches, trash cans and building facades
Maintenance of public amenities and utilities, including:
o The removal of grease and gum from sidewalks with the use of a hot water pressure
cleaner
o Painting curb-lines, light poles, public utilities and mail boxes
o Removing banners, hardware, and globes from light poles when they present a
hazardous situation
Landscape maintenance and planting, including:
o Pruning, trimming and cutting bushes, shrubs, trees and weeds through the use of
mechanical and manual tools, such as hedge trimmers, weed-wackers and loppers
o Weed inhibition on sidewalks and around plantings through use of ‘Round-Up’
o Watering plantings through the use of hoses and a mobile watering unit or fire hydrant
connection
In addition to tasks associated with district cleanliness and maintenance, Clean Team Ambassadors are
expected to exhibit the following qualities:


Be proactive and serve as the eyes and ears of the district, Ambassadors are expected to report
criminal activity, quality-of-life issues and safety hazards to their Supervisor as soon as it’s
observed
Communicate well and be polite to those they come in contact with, always be willing to
provide assistance or offer to get help for someone in need


Be thoughtful and courteous to fellow employees, exhibit a willingness to work weekdays and
weekends
Be reliable and show-up to work when scheduled
Job Requirements:






Be a minimum of 18 years of age
Valid state drivers license required
Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
Be able to pass a drug test; Have a solid work ethic and verifiable work and driving history
Experience using equipment, including hot-water pressure cleaners, weed wackers, lawn
mowers a plus;
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
