PSGC Meeting: 11/11/14 Meeting started 6:03PM Individual Introductions Guest Speaker: Jess Klein – CMU Sexual Violence Prevention Old Business: Subcommitees -Student Government Affairs: No Report -Sexual Assault- Setting up Google Hangout to discuss -Student Activities: Sending out a survey for all to fill out to describe the integration of service and programming events on campus New Business: -International Student Subcommittee – Brainstorming question for international students Some possibly questions/issues – transportation difficulty for international students -Google Calendar for campus events to coordinate campus activities that can be open for outside attendance and advertisements Agreement to set up a Facebook Group open to everyone and/or create a Google Calendar to integrate the different University events -Membership Fees: Possibility of charging dues as a membership fee $50/year, the advisory would be in charge of the money No decision to be made today, want to have a plan on what to do with the money and a proper amount for each school. School Reports CMU- Working with Sexual Assault Prevention -Went to White House to attend an event on Sexual Assault Prevention CMU GSA – Went to a student government conference -Campaigning to write to Congress concerning student debt -CMU admin pushing for tobacco free campus -Bike training for winter CARLOW – Has become smoke free -Working on water project to eradicate water bottles to get water bottle stations PITT Grad- Had fall formal, Great Gradspy Undergrad- Middle of elections today Point Park – Making a push to collect student concerns, having tables for student concerns -Food service night, talking to students about concerns -Sending students to faculty run committees around campus Chatham- Town Hall meeting with administration and the students -Middle of Constitution review -Going co-ed in Fall 2015 -4 work committees -Met with master planner on campus for campus expansion and utilization RMU – Built new nursing building -Sponsored 70+ Organizations to send on business trips -13 new clubs have been chartered on campus through their student government LaRoche- Updated by laws -Opening up elections to student body -Addressing recycling issues on campus -Open forum with the President coming up -Will be hosting festival of lights CCAC- Culture event (Indian) and distributed food to students -Had a veterans tribute -Hosting Blood drive -Blood pressure screening Closing Remarks Next meeting: LaRoche 7:00PM!
