Friday Bulletin – 11th December 2015 Christmas festivities have well and truly begun at Kells Lane. Thank you to the spectacular Royal Northern Sinfonia for our magical Christmas concert today, and to staff and children for wearing their Christmas jumpers and hats. We have had a wonderful day, full of smiles, music and laughter. I am thrilled to announce that members of the Sinfonia will be helping us to set up a Kells Lane string orchestra for children in the New Year. We will write to you soon with more details. Thank you to the KLSF group and all the families who attended the Christmas treasure hunt last weekend. We had a record turnout for this event and the school discos, raising over £1000 for our school. Our whole school assembly this week focused on community spirit, appreciating the community we live in, and celebrating our cultural diversity. Children in Year 6 and Year 4 have been out carol singing in residential homes for the elderly, and we learned the meaning behind the Hanukkah festival. I shared with the children the words of Mother Teresa when she received the Nobel Prize, she was asked, “What can we do to promote world peace?” She answered “Go home and love your family.” Have a lovely weekend.
