Ahoy Matey! Welcome to Pasco Middle School’s Cambridge Secondary Science 7(6th grade)! My name is Mrs. Novak, and I cannot wait for the 2014-2015 school year to begin. I know you just love science! And if you do not, I promise that science will become one of your favorite subjects by the end of the first quarter. We will be engaging in some great and I must say very challenging hands on investigations and research projects in the areas of biology, chemistry, and physics. However, before we can begin, you will need complete 4 assignments and a culminating investigation over the summer. These assignments will familiarize you with scientific inquiry. Don’t panic! It’s not like a summer science fair project. You will not have to complete a backboard or present your findings to the class. (Not this time anyway.) The only materials you will need are colored pencils or markers, and a fun size bag of M&M’s. Please complete each assignment in the order that it is presented below and save the final project for the end. You can plan approximately 30-40 minutes to complete each assignment, and 60 minutes to complete the final project. All summer assignments will be collected on the first day of school. Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns you may have with the assignments. Looking forward to meeting you!
