THE CHURCH OF SAINT JAMES Saint James Helping Hands The St. James Helping Hands Ministry provides meals for homebound parishioners who are recovering from illness or surgery and repast gatherings after funerals. Repasts are held in the Chapel Auditorium. Please understand the following guidelines: At least two full days notice is required. This is not a catering service. It is simply a group of kind volunteers who wish to help others in times of grief and illness. We will set up tables and chairs, provide paper products, beverages and a light meal, and serve your family and friends with friendly smiles. As we clean up, please plan on taking left-over food home with you to share with your family and friends. Any help with trash removal, to be carried out to the bins in the parking lot, is greatly appreciated. During the months of June – August, we will not provide hot food. If you are bringing your own hot food, please let us know. Repasts which occur after early funerals are best suited to breakfast. Repasts after 10:00 or 11:00 a. m. funeral Masses will be offered lunch selections. Since our volunteers arrive early in the morning to set up, please be considerate of their time and plan on finishing your meal and visit in a timely manner. Helping Hands has been a ministry at St. James for about 50 years. It is funded solely on donations from grateful recipients of the service and collections from the St. James Rosary Altar Society. If you wish to make a donation back to Helping Hands, please make checks payable to “St. James Helping Hands.” Thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving you!
