On if he feels like he is healthy and back to his old self
“Yeah, I do feel that way, especially in practice—just little small things of just bending around the corner, getting out the ball or having that pop, just jumping off the ball. It feels good and also against the run, holding guys off, checking them off and making plays. I feel really good.”
On if it is realistic that the defense could hold the Chargers to three points twice in one season
“I think anything is realistic. If it can happen once, it can happen again, but the thing is, you've got to play the same way. You've got to come with the tenacity in the game. You can't make those big mistakes that we had last week, and we've got to play a fundamentally sound game—offense, defense and special teams.”
On how to play with tenacity after a big win
“The thing is, every week it's all about what have you done for me lately. With this team, every win is a big win for us. Last week, we've already forgotten about that. Now it's about what can you gain from the win right now. That's probably trying to gain a bye week and getting guys back healthy and making a big push for the playoffs, so that's a lot at stake for us. We still have a lot to play for.”
On what Head Coach Gary Kubiak has brought to this team that was lacking in years past
“I think that little spark, that little spark that all the guys knew we had—all the essential parts from all the players and coaching staff now—it's just that little grit that he brings to the game. It's carried throughout the coaches. You can see how the coaches, they communicate really well and it trickles over through the players and we communicate well and then we play better.”
On what he did with the game ball from the Cincinnati game
“Actually, it's still in my locker right now. I put Wilson up for a while, but hopefully we can do something big this week and we can get another one.”
On what he has seen from QB Brock Osweiler
“I think just consistency. He's been playing well for the last weeks he's been in the game. He's the same way in practice. When a mistake is made, we xerox it and we go over it again and make sure that the mistake is made in practice and not in the game.
He's been a mature player and he's getting the job done.”

On why the team has been able to handle the quarterback situation so well
“The thing is sometimes when you have a lot of chiefs on the team, you can't withhold the change. They don't like change.
You've got a lot of guys on this team that can be their worst critics. We can be the Indian, also. We can sort of take advice, so that sort of carries over into all the guys. When changes are made, we take that on and we just keep rolling because this game is about change, and it's not just one player. It's a team sport.”
On how much QB Brock Osweiler's record as the starter impacts the team's ability to handle change
“The thing is, I don't think it's all about wins and losses. It's all about [QB] Peyton [Manning] and him, hand-in-hand. When Brock is in the game, Peyton is giving him everything that he has. It's about being the best for your fellow man. It's not a he-said, shesaid or trying to bicker and start things. It's all about what do we need to do to win the game. That's what we're doing.”
On what the defense lacks without ILB Brandon Marshall on the field
“The thing is it's always missing a communicator. He's the guy that calls the plays, but now you've got other guys in there really taking up his role. The thing is, it's another change on the team. You know that Brandon Marshall is gone, but the next guy has to fill his shoes and play well just like he's been doing. We've got to keep rolling.”
On how the defense used halftime to get back on track against the Bengals
“I think sometimes disappointment can breed motivation. That's what sort of happened with us. You can see that we weren't playing well that first half, and it sort of trickled over from the weeks before that. We played well the first half and didn't play well the second half. That sort of motivated us to say, 'You know what, we didn't play well the second half. Now, how much do you want it? Can we pick this up this second half and win the game?' We went out and did that.”
On what it would mean to finish the season with the top-ranked defense
“You know, we're arrogant, to be honest with you. We want to be the best and to lead the team, actually the NFL in sacks, to lead them in yards per rush on us—we want to have it all. At the end of the day, that's where greatness is bred. We take that tenacity out wherever we play, and that's what we want. We want to be the best.”
On if he still has any pain from his back injury
“Not at all. It's been good for the last two weeks. Now it's just getting out there and getting used to doing things again. That's why each week I've been getting more and more plays. I've been feeling great, actually.”
