On what it means to see Owner Pat Bowlen's pillar unveiled at the Ring of Fame Plaza
“It means the world to me, to be honest with you. He's a gentleman who is definitely more deserving than anybody to have his
face and body embodied up there in the Ring of Fame. As you know, he's a great owner. I think that he's the best owner in the
NFL. He means the world to me, personally. I couldn't be happier for him.”
On speaking with Pat Bowlen after his career
“This was after I had finished playing, we were at a party and we had been drinking a little bit, not much. He came up and he told
me how much he appreciated me and how much I meant to him and the organization. It was funny that he said that to me and I
felt the same way about him. Of course, I expressed that same thing to him. It's just amazing that a man in his position was so
humble. He gives a lot of credit to those that help the team be successful. I think that we're all kind of a reflection of his
philosophy of working hard and being unselfish. He just embodies all of that. He's an extremely unselfish man and extremely
generous man. I, along with all of my teammates, love him to death.”
On the Super Bowl XXXII team being invited back this weekend
“It's really special. We're even playing against the Packers, too. That's definitely a big thing. It's awesome to remember Mr.
Bowlen up on stage when he said, 'This one's for John.' That's the other thing, he didn't say, 'This is for me,' he said, 'This is for
John.' It was great seeing him being able to stand up there and hoist that Lombardi Trophy. That was the pinnacle for us seeing
him and for him actually getting to do it. It was an awesome feeling.”
On the emotion of Sunday night
“I'm sure that it will be [emotional]. I wish that he could be here enjoying it the way that the rest of us are. Of course, our
thoughts and prayers are with him. He's with us in spirit.”
On some of his former coaches working with the Broncos
“It means quite a bit. It almost feels like my rookie year. We had [Head Coach Gary] Kubs [Kubiak] and [Defensive Coordinator]
Wade Phillips here. They're doing a wonderful job coaching this team up. To be honest, I didn't think that they'd be doing as well

as they're doing, especially offensively. They've had some issues offensively, but for the most part, they're still playing well. I'm
just looking for them to improve on that. I'm pretty excited.”
On if he recognizes some of the current defensive scheme from his days playing for Phillips
“Not really. It was so long ago. When I see a wide angle I can tell, but when it's close in, you can't really see it too well.”
