Career spotlights will provide you insight as to job descriptions, duties, pros and cons, and general tips.
Careers in Business
Meditation/Tips on Reducing Stress and Anxiety
Minot State University
They have a variety of programs in Business (accounting, finance, information technology), Additions
Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Communications Disorders, Nursing, Special Education, Teacher
Education, Pre-Professional Studies (medicine, dentistry, chiropractor, etc.), Sciences (every kind), Arts,
Communication Arts (broadcasting, communication, theatre), Arts (every kind), Math, Computer Science,
Music, Criminal Justice and much more. They also offer athletics and comparable tuition fees.
EMS/Police/Fire
Representatives from Moose Jaw EMS, Police Department and the Fire Station will share information on
what it takes to pursue a career in emergency services and law enforcement. They will share their
personal experiences and offer advice on how to prepare for schooling and the work place.
The Academies
The Academies is a multifaceted training centre, professional salon and day spa at which students can
prepare themselves for an exciting career in the beauty and spa industries. Dynamic, professional, and
experienced instructors present programs in Cosmetology, Aesthetics, Advanced Training and Private
Classes.
Study Skills and Test Taking Strategies
Learning study and test taking skills will be a great help to you as a student over the course of your high
school years and beyond. Get ready to learn some new tricks and tips while reviewing old information
that can help you improve your marks!
Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trades
Apprenticeship offers an opportunity to learn a skilled trade from a certified journeyperson. This includes
over 60 careers in a wide variety of areas. This session will provide information on the process of
becoming an apprentice and the different available careers. HUGE OPPORTUNITIES FOR
EMPLOYMENT AND GOVERNMENT GRANTS!
The Canadian Forces
This session will deal with different military plans and careers in the Canadian Forces Navy, Army, and
Air Force, including university programs offered at Royal Military College, and the Reserve Program.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic
Saskatchewan Polytechnic offers programs at four campuses in Saskatchewan – Moose Jaw, Kelsey
Saskatoon, Regina, and Prince Albert. Certificate and Diploma programs are offered in the areas of
Agriculture, Applied/Visual Media, Aviation, Business, Community/Human Services, Engineering
Technology, Health Services, Hospitality/Food Services, Industrial/Trades, Natural Resources, Nursing,
Recreation/Tourism, Science, and Technology.

University of Saskatchewan./St. Thomas More
The University of Saskatchewan offers programs in Agriculture, Arts and Science, Business, Dentistry,
Education, Engineering, Kinesiology, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Nutrition, Physical
Therapy, and Veterinary Medicine. St. Thomas More is a Federated College at the university. It offers
Arts and Science courses in a smaller environment with additional academic supports.
University of Regina/Luther/Campion College/First Nation University of Canada
The University of Regina offers programs in Administration, Arts (including Police Studies and
Journalism), Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Kinesiology and Health Studies, Science, and Social
Work. Luther and Campion College are Federated Colleges at the university. They offer Arts and
Science classes in a smaller environment with additional academic supports.

Mount Royal University, formerly named Mount Royal College, is located in Calgary, Alberta and has almost 8,000
full-time and 5,000 part-time students in attendance. The College offers degree, certificate, and diploma programs

Briercrest Bible College
Located in Caronport, Briercrest College offers full degree programs in the following areas: Church and
Culture, Humanities, Biblical Studies, Theology, Christian Ministry, Global Studies, Music, Worship
Arts, Youth Ministry, Applied Linguistics, and Business Administration. Many of the courses are
transferable to other universities, such as the University of Regina and University of Saskatchewan. More
recently they have partnered with Minot State University (education, social work, and
