住宿費 Dormitory Fee
(1) 校內宿舍 Taipei Tech dormitory (on campus) fee: Approx. NT$9,900 /學期 semester
新北（海山）宿舍 Haishan dormitory (off campus) fee: Approx. NT$7,500 /學期 semester
*Price varies according to room and dormitory types.
(2) 另外每人需加收 NT$700-1,200 清潔費
An additional cleaning fee of NT$700-1,200 per person will be charged.
(3) 需支付押金（一個月的房租）
Rental deposit (one month’s rent)
(4) 住宿費不滿一個月按日計算
Residents will be asked to pay the dormitory fee by day if the length of stay is less than one
month.

1.6 臺北科大學生宿舍資訊 Taipei Tech Dormitories Information
Students who have requested for Taipei Tech dormitory spaces should arrive between the
dormitories’ opening date and the enrollment date in September. Students who have applied for
Taipei Tech Dormitories will be admitted to the dormitories ON or AFTER the opening date of the
dormitories. Students who arrive before the opening date will NOT be admitted to the dormitories
and must arrange for their own accommodation until the dormitories are open.
Beginning from the Academic Year 2015-2016, all postgraduate students who have applied for
Taipei Tech Dormitories will be allocated to the residence hall at the New Taipei Municipal New Taipei
Industrial Vocational High School, a.k.a. Haishan Dormitory (off campus). Dormitory cost is NT$7,500
per semester for Taipei Tech students residing at the residence hall of Taipei Industrial Vocational
High School.
All male postgraduate students who have applied for Taipei Tech Dormitory are advised to go
directly to Haishan Dormitory upon arriving at Taiwan before coming to the Taipei Tech campus.
Traveling with heavy luggage from Taipei Tech campus to Haishan Dormitory is not advisable.
Remember to note the opening date of the dormitory and arrange to arrive in Taiwan on or after the
opening date.See Section 1-6-1 below for travel information.
All undergraduate students who have applied for Taipei Tech Dormitories, will be allocated to
the residence hall at Taipei Tech (on campus). See Transportation Section in the beginning of this
guide and Section 1-6-2 below for travel information.
NOTE: New students are eligible to apply to reside at Taipei Tech Dormitories for the 1st year ONLY.
Residence spaces at Taipei Tech Dormitories from the 2nd year onwards will be decided by lottery
and not guaranteed to all. Students entering their 2nd year of study should be prepared to reside
elsewhere.
1.6.1

新北（海山）宿舍 Haishan Dormitory (Off Campus)
Haishan Dormitory address for all male postgraduate students (male master’s & doctoral

How to get to Haishan Dormitory from Taoyuan International Airport
a. Take
CitiAir Bus no. 1962 bound for Banqiao at the airport (fare: NTD$135).
b. Get off the bus at the MRT Yongning Station stop (the very first stop after leaving the
airport). You may print out Page 13 and show it to the driver when boarding the CitiAir Bus
at the airport to have the driver remind you.

c. After getting off the bus at MRT Yongning Station, you will have 2 options to get to Haishan
Dormitory at New Taipei Municipal New Taipei Industrial Vocational High School.
 The first way to get to Haishan Dormitory is via taxi. The traveling distance is around 2.8
km and the fare will be within NTD$150. You may print out Page 14 and show the
destination to the taxi driver.
 The second way to get to Haishan Dormitory is via Taipei Metro, as illustrated below:
(1) Take Taipei Metro from Yongning Station to Haishan Station (two stations only). Get
off at Haishan Station and take Exit 2.
Take the elevator to the right of the staircase if you are carrying luggage

(2) Once you get out of MRT Haishan Station, go straight along Haishan Road (海山路).
→
(3) If you look to your right across the street on your way, you will see the Post Office
(serves also as a bank in Taiwan) side by side a supermarket (on the right). You can
return later to open a bank account and pick up daily necessities.
(4) When you get to the first intersection, turn left on Mingde Rd. Sec. 2 (明德路二段)

After turning left, continue straight ahead and you will find the main entrance of
New Taipei Municipal New Taipei Industrial Vocational High School (新北高工).
(5) Enter the school and continue to walk straight forward. Turn left in front of the
Automobile Department Building (汽車科大樓). Continue straight ahead, and you
will find the dormitory on your right hand side.

Notes for Taipei Tech Haishan Dormitory Residents
a. Only the 4th and 5th floors of the dormitory are for Taipei Tech students. Do NOT trespass
to other floors.
b. The balcony/rooftop of the 5th floor is restricted area. Do not trespass.
c. To avoid interfering with the daily activities of New Taipei Industrial Vocational High School,
do not trespass into other school zones.
d. Dormitory residents are prohibited from bringing friends of the opposite sex into their
rooms. Non-residents are NOT allowed entry into the dorm. Violators will receive a record
of demerit and are subject to expulsion from the dormitory.
e. No high voltage electrical appliances (electric heaters, fridges, etc.) are allowed in the dorm.
Violators will receive a record of demerit and are subject to expulsion from the dormitory.
f. No pets allowed. Violators will be expelled from the dormitory with their pets.
g. Residents must carry their student ID card with them at all times.
h. Be watchful of your own safety and belongings. Keep valuables with you at all times.
i. Haishan Dormitory is an open area. Keep your room locked if there is no one in the room.
j. Watch out for your neighbors. Notify dorm management personnel immediately if you
notice any suspicious persons or activities inside the dormitory building.

How to get to Taipei Tech campus from Haishan Dormitory:
Taipei Tech campus and Haishan Dormitory are both located on the Blue Line of Taipei Metro.
Therefore, to go to Taipei Tech campus from Haishan Dormitory, simply hop on a Blue Line train
bound for Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Station and get off at Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station
(traveling time: 25 minutes; one-way fare: NTD$35). Take Exit 4 and turn right, you will see the
Green Gate (side entrance) of Taipei Tech.

Taiwan’s climate is subtropical, meaning it is often humid and that an umbrella is a necessity
around the year. Highest temperature during summer might reach 38°C and the lowest temperature
in winter might drop to 13°C. Northern parts of Taiwan is usually cooler than the southern parts with
a temperature difference of approximately 3°C.

1. You can go to the Taipei Grand Mosque by bus.
Step 1: Take bus 280, 290, 505, 642, 643, 668 or 675 at Guanghua Market Stop (south

Step 2: Get off the bus at Heping Xinsheng Road Intersection Stop (5 stops away from
Guanghua Market Stop)
Step 3: Cross the road, turn right, and continue straight ahead, and you will see the Taipei
Grand Mosque on the right hand side (250 m; 5 minutes).
