Job summary
Job Summary
To achieve the objectives and targets of one of Catch22’s education services by
undertaking initial screening of young people and providing education to Functional
Skills/GCSE standard to small groups and directing one to one support as
necessary.
To support learners in developing their knowledge and skills and helping them to
access appropriate training and employment opportunities, in accordance with
contract requirements.
To embed safeguarding and inclusion principles at the heart of all practice.
Organisational relationships

Ensure that you read, are familiar with and follow all of Catch22’s policies and
procedures and ensure that you update yourself with any new or amended
policies or procedures as and when necessary

To take line management direction from Project Manager/Co-ordinator

To act as an ambassador for Catch22, upholding and promoting our corporate
values and to communicate possible opportunities for Catch22 service growth
to line manager

To undertake internal and external training as agreed with line manager and
show commitment towards continuing professional development

To undertake any other duties that can be reasonably expected of you within
your job grade

Main duties and accountabilities
Main duties include:

To lead on the production of schemes of work for the service delivery of
Maths/English in Functional Skills up to Level 2 & GCSE programmes

To prepare and develop innovative themed lessons & design and deliver
group activities

To teach individual young people and groups following the programme
curriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement

To provide/manage one to one support to learners where necessary

To manage a learner caseload and ensure targets are achieved in line with
success and achievement KPI’s

To assess learners English & Maths starting points using 4Skills assessment
tool and using a range of other initial assessment and teaching resources

To liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets
and progress to appropriate outcomes

To provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to
enable progression

To manage classroom behaviour issues

To ensure, up to date assessments of learners, across all relevant activities

To monitor and maintain appropriate paperwork and records of progress and
to report all cases of learner sickness and absence

To complete review paperwork and record learners’ progress as directed

To establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with other
external organisations involved with the service and learners

Actively participate in continuous quality improvement and self assessments
and the implementation of subsequent action plans

Ensure learners understand and follow all relevant policies and regulations, to
clarify what is expected of them and to ensure their safety and wellbeing

Meet agreed contract targets to ensure that revenue is secured

Complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales
to ensure that contract requirements are met and funding is maximised
