Weymouth College Periodic Review 2012-13 Panel discussions led to the following conclusions in respect of the programmes reviewed. Conclusions on innovation and good practice The Panel thanked the College for engaging with the process and highlighted the following good practice: Assessment practices are working well with clear guidance, arrangements and feedback Support for students and the role of the Learning Mentor Effective relationship between the College and University Opportunities for students in co-curricular activities, which enhance employment prospects Conclusions on quality and standards The Panel was reassured that the quality and standards of the programmes are being maintained. It was noted that: Management for delivery of standards are as set out in partnership agreements and working effectively Management of quality of learning opportunities working as per partnership agreement Conclusions on whether the programmes remain current and valid in the light of developing knowledge in the discipline, practice in its application and developments in teaching and learning The Panel was satisfied that the programmes remain current and valid. The two Plymouth University programmes are current and are developing opportunities for employment opportunities for students. Forward looking recommendations for actions to remedy any identified shortcomings, and for further enhancement of quality and standards The Panel made the following recommendations: External Examiners reports should be made more available to students The emerging Higher Education (HE) Strategy reflects deliberate approaches to encompass all examples of how the college is currently enhancing the student experience The HE strategy should review and promote further opportunities for enhancing the student voice / student representation Work closely with Academic Partnerships to realise proposals to develop HE provision within the College
