WHEREAS, the Student Government Association is the official student governing body for
Illinois State University;
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Student Government Association to recognize outstanding achievement by students and committees;
WHEREAS, the Programs and Recognition Committee has determined the importance of recognizing committees who have shown great achievement in, but not limited to, the areas of scholarship, service, special events, athletics, and success at Illinois State University;
WHEREAS, “Homecoming Week” was an event that increased school spirit, student involvement, an opportunity for increased awareness for the Student Government Association and constituent contact;
WHEREAS, increased school spirit, student involvement and awareness for the Student
Government Association and constituent contact are goals for the 2007-2008 Student
Government administration;
WHEREAS, the planning for “Homecoming Week” was executed through the Homecoming
Steering Committee;
WHEREAS, the Homecoming Steering Committee planned all events associated with
Homecoming week, such as the Kick-Off on the Quad, Casino Night, Torchlight Parade, etc,;
WHEREAS, Student Government Association had representatives attend each of these events planned by the Homecoming Steering Committee;
WHEREAS, the Homecoming Steering Committee has shown exceptional leadership and achievement in planning and the execution of “Homecoming Week”;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Assembly of the Student Government Association and the Programs and Recognition Committee recognize the Homecoming Steering Committee for their exceptional hard work for the planning and execution of “Homecoming Week” at Illinois
State University;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Programs and Recognition Committee through the Public
Relations Director will write a press release to be given to the Technology Director to ensure this achievement by the Homecoming Steering Committee will be cited on the Student Government
Website;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Programs and Recognition Committee will distribute a certificate of achievement to the Homecoming Steering Committee for their achievements

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Assembly of the Student Government Association directs the Student Body President along with the Programs and Recognition Chairperson to transmit a formal copy of this resolution, a letter of congratulations on behalf of the Association and
Student Body.
