Tony’s presentation focused on the use of the internet to facilitate the management of volunteers. The myvolunteerpage.com enables charities to register on line and to advertise their need for volunteers. Volunteers themselves may equally browse opportunities for providing their services. Through this website The Centre on Philanthropy receives reports of activity for a number of referrals, showing availability for various types of volunteer work island-wide. The ‘Post-it-Anywhere’ facility promotes the opportunities in businesses, schools, and churches for example. The ‘Volunteer Impact’ provides an HR system for the volunteer section, raising volunteer satisfaction and producing efficiency in management of volunteers. The colour coding of volunteer profiles allows the manager to assemble appropriately skilled teams.
