October? Ed.)
ADG Delano Ingham gave an update on the planned events for the ‘On-to-Bermuda’ week.
President George notified the Club of the RI Convention scheduled for June ’07 in Salt Lake

Meeting of 5th October
PP Alan Pailing introduced last week’s speaker as Tony Goodrow, a Rotarian in Burlington,
Ontario who is in Bermuda on behalf of the Centre on Philanthropy where he is assisting in the
formation of the Bermuda Volunteer Centre.
Tony’s presentation focused on the use of the internet to facilitate the management of volunteers.
The myvolunteerpage.com enables charities to register on line and to advertise their need for
volunteers. Volunteers themselves may equally browse opportunities for providing their services.
Through this website The Centre on Philanthropy receives reports of activity for a number of
referrals, showing availability for various types of volunteer work island-wide.
The ‘Post-it-Anywhere’ facility promotes the opportunities in businesses, schools, and churches
for example. The ‘Volunteer Impact’ provides an HR system for the volunteer section, raising
volunteer satisfaction and producing efficiency in management of volunteers. The colour coding
of volunteer profiles allows the manager to assemble appropriately skilled teams.
The Speaker was thanked on behalf of the Club by Delano Ingham
The raffle was won by George Scott
It’s that man again…
“Since I was here, thanks to the bravery of our military and to friends and allies, the regime of
Saddam Hussein is no more. The world is peaceful and free.”
