STUDENTS













Dr. Stadalis would like to remind the core group sponsors of homecoming pep rally planning meeting this
afternoon in the cafeteria. The meeting will be brief.
For those who were nominated for Homecoming court elections who were given permission to turn their 2 papers
in to Dr. Stadalis on Monday need to do so as soon as possible. Permission slips and grade sheets will be
accepted after 2:30 today.
For those who qualified for homecoming court elections, you may put your posters up to campaign on your own
time. We cannot interrupt class time to put up posters or to campaign. Also, nominees must keep their campaign
clean and fair!
All students are to be in full uniform every day. Please refer to the Student Policy Manual for regulations.
Romaguera will be here tomorrow to take school pictures for grades 7th-11th.
Any student interested in purchasing a 2015-16 yearbook may purchase from the main office or Mrs. Clement in
room 705 for $35. After October 9, price goes to $40.
The 2015 River Region Art Association Art Show is rapidly approaching. If you are interested in showing
artwork for the contest exhibit, you need to see Mrs. Gautreau as soon as possible for guidelines, rules, entry
form and important dates. Cash prizes and ribbons are given. The school with the most submissions will win the
spirit award!
4-H meeting Thursday, October 1 at 2:30 in the library. 4-H officers needed…if you are interested, please stop
by the library to speak to Mrs. Williamson, or Mrs. Duke in room 511 for more information.
The PSAT test will be given Wednesday, October 14. 10 th & 11th grade students interested in taking the PSAT
can sign up in the counselor’s office. The cost of the test is $15. Juniors, you must take the PSAT during your
junior year in order to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Senior Week this week. Tuesday is Kindergarten Day.
Don’t forget to buy your Homecoming t-shirts! All order forms and money are due to Ms. Brown in room 501 by
October 2. Homecoming tickets are also being sold in the morning at the concession stand in the cafeteria.
LHS Alumni shirts are on sale now! If you have parents or friend who are LHS Graduates, please spread the
word. Order forms are in the front or back office.
We will be hosting a blood drive on Monday, October 5 through the Ochsner Blood Bank. For every
blood donation a contribution of $10 will be made to ta scholarship fund. The scholarship will be
awarded to a LHS student at the end of the school year. Random drawing will choose the winner, and
all student blood donors are eligible to win. Please sign up in the counselor’s office if you would like to
donate. You will be assigned a donation time that best fits into your class schedule.
SPORTS


Attention all senior athletes: Anyone who ordered “extras” on your Letterman’s Jacket will be notified once we
get the bill. We ask that you attempt to pay prior to the senior picnic.
Attention girls power lifters: Fall practice and tryouts will begin Monday October 5th at 2:45. Practices will be
on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Any lifter involved in any other sport must contact Coach Jon or Coach
Michelle BEFORE October 5th to begin coordinating practices.
