Emily Duong, Tiffany Nguyen, and Ashley Chen played especially well for the tigers.. JV girls tennis beat Orange Lutheran 15-3. Both our varsity and JV girls tennis teams are 4-0 on the season. way to go tigers! * Club Rush Week! This week is Club Rush. Stop by the many tables in the cafeteria, rally stage, and quad to see the many clubs our school will be offering this year. Get involved! * Are you missing any lost items? Please stop by the front office for any of the following found items: one cell phone, one skateboard, sunglasses, sports bags, misc. clothing, keys, textbooks, binders, folders, as well as various drinking cups. * Valencia’s Robotic Team wants you…..if you are interested in programming, engineering, physics, web design, animation, business or leadership. There are positions on the team open in all areas. The robotics team is part of the “FIRST” organization. FIRST is recognized globally as a leader in producing great candidates for careers in Engineering, Science, Technology and Business. Teams from all over California will be here at Valencia to compete. The Team needs volunteers to help with the competition. If you are interested you can sign up online at Mr. Osborne’s website or you can contact your teacher or Mr. Osborne or Mrs. Conant. You could finish half your community service in one weekend. Thank you. * ID pictures are available during both lunches in the cafeteria. If you don’t have an ID, you should stop by during lunch to care of it. * Are you a fan of Mel Brooks or Alfred Hitchcock? Would you like to be in a hilarious play which mixes the two styles of these great Masters? Auditions are next week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the Fall Play, "The 39 Steps". All Valencia students are eligible to audition. You do not have to be a drama student to be in the fall play. See Mrs. Stanton in room 506 for more information. * Tiger Tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the library after school from 3pm-4pm. It is open to all students in need of assistance with their homework or studies. * Homecoming 2014!! Homecoming 2014 Dance Tickets are on sale now! This year the dance will be held at the Fullerton Community Center on October 25th, so plan ahead. Dance ticket prices are posted at the finance window and in the quad. Start planning now for Homecoming 2014! Guest passes are available at the finance window. Take care of your guest passes before you buy your ticket. * Remember to clear your absences or you can be given Saturday hours. Check your Aeries account to make sure you are clear. It is your responsibility to check on your attendance clearance. * Attention all College-Bound Juniors: Sign up now for the October 18th PSAT test. The PSAT test is required for all juniors who wish to participate in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. The PSAT test is the qualifying exam for JUNIORS for the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Students who score well on the PSAT are actively recruited by elite universities and are eligible for valuable cash scholarships. This is the only chance you will have to participate in this scholarship competition. Sign-ups for the PSAT will close on Friday, September 26th. Don’t wait, sign up today. Bring $30 cash, check or credit card to Mrs. Swearingen in the VHS Finance Office. * Attention Juniors and Seniors: A representative from UCSB/ University of California, Santa Barbara will be visiting our campus tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23 during 1st lunch only. If you have 2nd lunch and would like to meet with the representative, please see your counselor ASAP. This Friday, a representative from St. John's University in New York will be in the career center during 2nd lunch only. * Our Cal State Fullerton representative for this year will be Ms. Soria. Ms. Soria is in the career center on Tuesdays all day and on Thursdays from 11AM-3PM. Stop by at break or lunch to meet Ms. Soria and ask any questions you have regarding college admissions, college entrance exams or financial aid. *TIGER CHALLENGE!
