Athletic Department
 Report – Fall Sports are off and running. Construction update - on time and on budget.
Online sports scheduling still a problem and we hope that the firm will fix the problem
soon.
 Thank you to the Demons Club for the purchase of the netbook. The PC is working well
for season passes.
 A “plug” for the All Class Reunion for the weekend of Homecoming. Visit
www.WestlakeAllAlumni.com for information and ticket purchases.
 Facility updates – Working on possible home football game adjustments for
Homecoming – perhaps an additional gate near the “scanning gate.”
 Bassett soccer field update –grass is growing on the soccer field.
 At Burneson they are smoothing out dirt.
 Athletic Dev committee has a meeting this Thursday at 7pm. Some of the bigger
donors include: Univer Hospitals - $50K; Cleveland Clinic $20K.
 FYI –there has been a change over in Kohlmeyers and our district has a new sales rep.
 No new requests.


 Fundraisers
 Pick Three Game – Need to get a handle on outstanding tickets.
About eight teams are participating and tickets/money needs to be in
by September 30th.
 Spaghetti Dinner – Craig brought food samples by Antonios. Cost is $2.50 per person;
expect to purchase 700 plates of pasta, salad and desserts – Grays pies - $7.00 per
pie. Becker’s – sheet cakes; $0.58 cents per person. Signage to go up the week prior
to homecoming.
Treasurer Report
 Report – See attached financial statement
 Mike Hannibal (treasurer-elect) has had a couple of meetings with former Treasurer
Tim James for transition of roles..
Spirit Wear / PR / Programs / Website Update
 Spirit Wear –
 New Student Orientation - $1534 in sales
 Week one Football Game Spirit Wear - $ 914
 Week one program - $258 (cost $122.10)
New Business
 Publicize New Board Slate via email to all members and plan to vote at October
meeting
 Volleyball – Donna Fugo-Kumler discussed “Volley for the cure.” Westlake will host the
event on October 4 against North Olmsted.




