League Secretary – Stewart Hamilton: Overall, very happy with the leagues and the
new Resultzone website had been very successful, with the exception of a couple of
complaints about the rankings.
SH proposed results to be in within 2 days as of next season.
More juniors were reported to be playing in the senior leagues.
A proposal to enter a team into the English Inter-County championship next season.
Congratulations to Newlands in winning the National League in both Gents and
Ladies, and Giffnock in winning the league for the very first time in their history.
Tournament Convenor – George Allan
We ran the knock out cup in the summer in the lead up to the new season, Lower
entry than usual but a fun finals night held at SSRC.
West Junior A was run at Newlands with 63 players entered.
Fergus Richards beat Rory Stewart in the Div 1 final. There was a good entry of the
up and coming west Juniors.
West B Event was held at SSRC with a full entry of 64 over the 2 days.
Stuart George (Gif) was runner-up in the event losing to Jamie Henderson (SSRC).
Giffnock had just under 25% of players in the draw.
West Junior Closed was held at Newlands. 28 players entered with Harry Anderson
beating Patrick O’Sullivan in a greatly contested final.
Some behaviour issues from players to be addressed for future seasons.
Junior Convenor – Stuart George
Another successful Junior Inter-regional event with West winning 4 out of the 5 age
groups.
Some good juniors coming through the West Regional Squad sessions.
