Other alumni present: David Craig, Korie Fairbairn, Gene and Holly Haines, Brian Henderson,

The meeting was held at the Feather Sound Country Club. Brenda called the meeting to order
at 11:30 a.m.
Brenda asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the February 2, 2010 Leadership Team
meeting. Vicky motioned for approval, with a second from Sue and the motion carried. Tracy
made a motion to approve the minutes from the June 19th meeting, seconded by Donna and the
motion carried.
Brenda announced that Jackie Wertel resigned as Communications Chair. A motion to accept
Jackie’s resignation was made by Vicky, seconded by Phil and passed unanimously. A motion
was also made by Brenda to nominate Tracy Craig as Chapter Webmaster, seconded by Sue
and passed unanimously.
Brenda distributed the Shutterfly website poll results. The members reviewed and discussion
ensued. It was suggested that everyone select an event that they would like to coordinate and
let Brenda know so she can include it in the PCAC email.
Fiscal Year Planning
Preseason Event
Brenda announced that Coach Holtz does not have time to appear at a football preseason kickoff event and the restaurant location went out of business. There was discussion regarding
options for an event next spring after the USF Spring football game in May or June. Donna
stated she would contact USF Athletics and get the PCAC on the Coach’s calendar.
USFSP Social
Sue provided a summary of the first USFSP Networking Social on the USFSP campus on July
15. There were approximately 23 people that attended and it was agreed that moving the time
might result in more people attending. The next USFSP social is scheduled for August 12th from
5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Williams House.
USF Night at the Rays
Donna stated that we could get a group to meet at Ferg’s prior to the USF Night at the Rays on
August 14 in the air-conditioned space on the 2nd floor. It was decided that we would request
RSVP’s to determine how many tables we would need to save.
Tailgate Party - Tampa
Brenda explained that the PCAC will be partnering with the Greater Tampa chapter for a
Tailgate Party at BullsHeaven on August 28th. We would like to have a silent auction and find
some sponsors. Donna volunteered to coordinate the silent auction. The next meeting for
organizing is on August 7th at BullsHeaven.
1
Watch Parties - Mid County: Vicky stated that she has left several messages for Al Capogna
but hasn’t received any return calls. Significant discussion ensued as to what other locations
might be available, including Clearwater Country Club.
North County. Brenda stated that My Three Kids has closed so she is looking for another north
county location. Discussion ensued and several suggestions were made, including the Cop
Shop in Oldsmar. Brenda will check it out as a possible watch party sight.
South County. Donna reported that Hooters at Tyrone Mall is willing to host our watch parties.
The discount cards should be included this year, but waiting on final corporate approval. She
also stated that she would be distributing the discount cards only to Alumni Association
members this year.
USF vs Florida watch party. Brenda stated that the Shutterfly poll showed that there was high
interest in having a pool party at Innisbrook to watch this game. She reported that the cost for
renting the TV would be $500. We would expect a large crowd and one TV would not be
enough. Innisbrook stated that it could be up to $1,000 for two TV sets. Discussion ensued and
most members present thought that was too much money to spend on one event. Other options
for a Florida watch party were discussed but no final decision was made.
Community Service. Donna stated that she the Ronald McDonald House breakfast is set for
August 14, 2010. Volunteers and food are still being accepted. Donna stated she would
contact all volunteers approximately two weeks before the event.
Sue stated that she would contact the Marine Science department regarding the Beach Clean
Up. This event will probably not be until winter/spring, unless the Gulf oil spill hits our beaches.
New Events. Phil discussed that he would like to look into a golf event for alumni. He also
stated that he would coordinate the Bulls Zone alumni tent event at a home game. Brenda
noted that she would look at asking Image Depot to sponsor that tent.
Website
Tracy provided each member a screen print out of our current Pinellas website. She asked
questions and sought insight as to what we would want to see on a new and improved website.
Discussion ensued and Brenda suggested, and others agreed, that Tracy should give it her own
attempt (since this is her expertise), and we will provide any additional insight. It was decided
that a Comment section would be nice to add so we can get feedback of our members.
Finance Report and National Board Update
Donna stated the PCAC as of June 30, 2010. The chapter has $1,415 in funds. Donna
announced that every AA member should try to attend the annual Bulls Roast at the
homecoming game in October. She also explained the license plate revenue and encouraged
everyone to provide the $25 vouchers to friends and family. She announced the plans for a
special spring event to be held in Traditions Hall in April as a fundraiser for the Alumni
Association.
New Business
Brenda explained the new badges and the Leadership Team unanimously approved the
expenditure for the three new badges.
Next Meeting
It was suggested that our next meeting be held at Clearwater Country Club on Sunday,
August 1, 2010 for lunch. With there being no new business to discuss, Brenda adjourned the
meeting at 1:40 p.m.
