Graduate Placement Programme:
Due to our continued success, we are now inviting applications from suitable candidates to participate in our
newly re-launched Graduate Placement Programme which will be based from our offices at Technology House,
Robinhood Road, Dublin 22. These placements will last for six months commencing in June 2010 and are ideally
suited to Information and Communications Technology Graduates seeking experience in the provision of
innovative and customer orientated ICT Solutions.
Role:
The successful candidate will be required to work in a number of roles within Datapac ensuring they get the
widest range of experience in order to increase their opportunities of successfully obtaining a challenging and
exciting role in the ICT industry on completion. The programme is designed to give graduates an edge in current
employment market on successful completion.
Programme Structure:
Each Graduate will be required to undertake a number of modules of experience designed around their core
knowledge, skills and abilities as demonstrated by them at interview and on the job. This skill set will be
combined with the current business objectives and requirements in determining which modules the graduate will
undertake. These modules may include but are not limited to:
Customer Service
Datapac is committed to ensuring that our technical team is not just highly skilled in the provision of technical
solutions but that they can understand the needs of our customers in the provision of this solution. In mentoring
this ability an essential module on the training programme is that of front line management and coordination of
customer contacts with Datapac. This involves the planning, organizing and escalation of customer requests to
ensure all customer needs are met and that all contacts with Datapac are followed through to resolution in a
timely and effective manner.
Service Support Engineering
A number of requests scheduled by customer service will have the potential to be resolved through the provision
of technical support delivered remotely by our dedicated and specialist Service Support Team. Suitable Graduates
may have the opportunity to provide support commencing with first level technical support as part of this team.
Workshop Engineering
Graduates who have the opportunity to undertake this module will experience working with ICT hardware such as
PC’s, laptops, printers and servers in a break/fix capacity. This will also include exposure to the administrative
side of this function such as dealing with warranty and liaising with key suppliers such as HP. Like all roles in
Datapac there will be a strong customer contact orientation and graduates undertaking this module will be
required to interact with customers and take ownership for the resolution of their requests to completion
Field Service Engineering
Those with a strong ICT break/fix ability may be given the opportunity to work onsite along with a senior Datapac
engineer where this module is available. This will involve going on to a working customer site in diagnosing
breakdowns and troubleshooting until the issue is resolved in a timely and effective manner with minimal
disruption to the business of the customer in mind.
Professional Service Engineering
Graduates may be required to support Senior Datapac Engineers in large scale ICT solution implementations.
These projects involved the implementation of innovative ICT solutions on to customer sites. Due to the scale and
