Purdue University Calumet invites applications and nominations for an innovative, energetic and
dynamic leader in the position of Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Student
Affairs, who reports to the Chancellor and serves as a member of the senior leadership team of
the University. This newly created position is the result of a reorganization in which the Vice
Chancellor will provide strategic leadership and oversight for student affairs and enrollment
services, utilizing industry standards and best practices, and will develop, coordinate and
execute enrollment strategies to attract, enroll and retain students at Purdue University
Calumet. The Vice Chancellor will have the responsibility for managing and overseeing all
offices within Student Affairs as well as the Office of Recruitment and Admissions, Office of
Financial Aid, Office of Student Accounts, and the Office of Registration. The Vice Chancellor
will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the development, coordination, and
implementation of services and programs for student development and student leadership to aid
in the holistic development of students.
Purdue University Calumet is a comprehensive university with a student enrollment of
approximately 10,000 students. The University offers over 40 undergraduate and 12 graduate
fields of study and is internationally known for its quality of service and education. Purdue
Calumet offers many different educational options such as certificate, baccalaureate and
master’s degree programs. Purdue University Calumet is a regional campus ideally located in
Indiana's northwest business corridor and is 25 miles from Chicago (three miles from the Illinois
border), which allows faculty and students the opportunity to apply practical applications to their
studies. The University has two locations: Hammond (main campus) and Merrillville (Purdue
Calumet Academic Learning Center).
The Enrollment Services area provides strategic leadership in recruitment, admissions, financial
aid, student accounts, new student assessment and testing, national testing, student records,
and academic scheduling. The area brings vision, energy, focus and exceptional execution to all
enrollment matters, working collaboratively across the University's administrative team to build
the strongest possible institution.
Student Affairs, which includes among its services counseling, health services, student
activities, and residence life, provides leadership for student development and learning outside
the classroom in co-curricular activities and holistic personal development services for students.
Student Affairs recognizes its role in student development, student leadership and retention and
works with other departments and divisions across campus to build the strongest possible
institution.
The qualifications include a master’s degree required; a terminal degree preferred, five years of
senior level administration experience in higher education, to include experience in enrollment
management and overseeing multiple student affairs' departments including housing.
Experience must include demonstrated skill in leadership of strategic and fiscal planning,
management, supervision and oversight of multiple and varied departments in higher education,
plus a broad understanding of higher education policies and procedures. Highly desired is
experience working with student information systems and culturally diverse populations.
