Dear Parents/Guardians
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
The Year 3 / 4 children have grown in confidence over this week and have performed to a
different audience wonderfully on three separate occasions. Many thanks to all the parents who
have supported our children with the learning of lines, songs and moves. We are all very proud
of the hard work that has gone into this concert. Thank you for your continued support.
SANDIACRE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
Our children have been involved in a whole school design technology project organised by Mr.
Tye. The decorations were made for our local Christmas tree on Derby Road. Many thanks to
all the parents and children who joined Mr. Tye and myself. Mayor of Erewash, Mrs. Val.
Constance and her Consort; Mrs. Michelle Bloor, Clerk to the Parish Council; Mr. Wayne Major,
Parish Council Chairman; Mr Hunt, Chair of Governors and some members of Sandiacre Male
Voice Choir on Saturday night. We very much enjoyed singing carols, eating mince pies and
hanging up the decorations together. The Ilkeston Advertiser newspaper will be writing an
article about the event on Thursday 17th December it was a wonderful family and community
event.
CHRISTMAS PARTIES
The children’s Christmas parties take place next week. Year 4 on Monday, Year 6 on Tuesday,
Year 5 on Wednesday and Year 3 on Thursday. Please send in their food on the morning of the
party along with suitable party clothes, e.g. no high heels, no offensive slogans and no makeup. The children will come to school in uniform and can get changed into their party gear after
lunch.

Last week’s attendance was 96 %, our target is 96.5%. This week’s class attendance was won
by 5C and the most punctual classes were 6C.

wrapping, providing refreshments for the lower school concerts and the Disco tonight. Thank
you to everyone who helped but particularly to Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Stankovic and Mrs. Martin
who gave up their free time to organise and be present at these events. We would also like to
thank some of the local shops who kindly donated presents and prizes for these events. These
include the Co-op, Sandiacre Pet Shop, Johal News, Sandiacre News, Jaycens and J.C.R. –
The Spar Shop.
