Note from Mr. Sturgeon: All treats that are brought to school need to be store bought and prepackaged. Thank
you for your cooperation in this matter and keeping our children safe from food allergies.
We are participating in a food drive with the High School to collect food for God’s Store House. This is connected to an
annual competition between the JWHS and the Perry Lecompton High School to see which school can collect the most
food. The food drive ends December 15th. Please send non-perishable foods to the E.S.
On inclement days please be watching for School Closing Announcements. Every attempt will be made to notify the
public by 6:30 A.M. if school is to be closed or opening delayed in the morning. Only on very rare occasions will school
close early. When school is to be closed or delayed, the following radio and TV stations will be notified: Radio, WIBWAM (580), WIBW-FM (94.5). KMAJ-AM (1440), KMAJ (107.7). Television stations: Channels 13, 27 and 49. You
will also be receiving an automated broadcast message on your phone. Please check your Skyward Parent Account
setup and make sure your contact numbers are correct.
ELEMENTARY YEARBOOKS: We will send flyers home the end of January concerning the ordering of Elementary
Yearbooks. Please read the bulletin and watch for more information.
Preparations are beginning for the All School Carnival on April 16, 2016. The Booster Club is looking for committee
chairs to work with games, meal or concessions. Please email your interest to jwbc70@gmail.com. As always, we thank
you for your support!
JWES is now offering the BackSnack program through Harvesters. If you would like your student to get a back pack of
food sent home for the weekend, please contact the Elementary School. There are no income requirements.
