PREAMBLE 2. SUMMARY OF THE BROAD PURPOSE OF THE POSITION and its responsibilities/duties The AHP-2 Radiographer contributes to the provision of medical imaging services using specialised equipment to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations for clients/patients across a range of specialities of medicine working in General, ED, and Theatre units. They perform complex medical imaging diagnostic services under reducing professional direction as experience grows using specialised equipment requiring selection and application of new techniques and methodologies across general, emergency trauma and Theatre areas. They apply professional knowledge and exercise professional judgement as an independent operator in selecting and adapting methods best suited to general/trauma x-ray examinations which using significant initiative as the lead imaging professional. 3. REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (to whom the person reports, staff for whom the person is responsible, and other significant connections and working relationships within the organisation) Accountable to the Chief Radiographer. Responsible on a day-to-day basis to the Radiographer in Charge of the rostered unit. Regular liaison with Senior Radiographers and other unit staff, particularly Shift Supervisors, Medical, Nursing and Clerical staff. 4. SPECIAL CONDITIONS (such as non-metropolitan location, travel requirements, frequent overtime, etc) May be required to work within other locations of the Adelaide Health Service. May be rostered over 24 hours, 7 days a week on a rotating roster of 19 days per month. Required to participate in on-call roster. The incumbent is required to be available to work in other sections of the Medical Imaging Division as per roster. May be required to undertake a health assessment prior to commencement.
