Classroom Leadership Roles and Descriptions
1. Agenda Attendant: Leader checks agendas each morning for
parent/guardian signatures and ensures all subject areas are filled in
completely.
2. Attendance Clerk: Leader takes attendance each morning and delivers
it to the office.
3. Banker: Leader cuts Lion Bucks when needed and distributes Lion
Bucks every morning to those students who completed their
Leadership role the previous day.
4. Behavior Chart Carrier: Leader transports the behavior chart to
Related Arts classes and returns the chart to the classroom before
dismissal.
5. Boys’ Restroom Monitor: Leader checks the boys’ restroom for
cleanliness before the class enters, admits boys into the restroom,
monitors students’ behavior in the restroom, and reports misbehaviors
to the teacher.
6. Class Messenger: Leader delivers messages and materials throughout
the school.
7. Class Secretary: Leader files papers, distributes papers from the
school, and collects returned/signed papers.
8. Clip Chart Manager: Leader records students’ final position on the
clip chart from the previous day and returns all clips to “Ready to
Learn” each morning.
9. Date and Schedule Clerk: Leader changes the date each afternoon
for the next day and changes the Related Arts schedule each week.
10. Desk and Cubby Inspector: Leader inspects students’ desks and
cubbies each morning and ensures they are neat and organized.
11. Door Holder: Leader holds the door open for students and teachers
when leaving or entering the building.
12. Dry Erase Supplies Manager: Leader distributes and collects dry
erase board and dry erase markers, ensures the boards are clean and
the tops are securely on the markers.
13. Energy Specialist: Leader turns on and off the lights when needed
during class and turns off the lights when the class leaves the room.
14. Girls’ Restroom Monitor: Leader checks the girls’ restroom for
cleanliness before the class enters, admits girls into the restroom,
monitors students’ behavior in the restroom, and reports misbehaviors
to the teacher.
15. Library Leader: Leader distributes and collects books, ensures the
class library is in order, and returns books to the library on our
library day.
16. Line Leader: Leader leads the class to and from the classroom and
throughout the school while stopping at the designated stopping
points.
17. Medical Assistant: Leader escorts students to the nurse when needed
and takes the First Aid kit to recess.
18. Morning Assistant: Leader assists the teacher with any duties needed
to prepare for the school day.
19. Paper Carrier: Leader distributes and collects papers and “no
peekers” when needed during class.
20. Pencil Technician: Leader sharpens class pencils every morning and
ensures that all pencils have erasers.
21. Produce Manager: Leader distributes the class snack and returns the
snack basket to the cafeteria.
22. Sanitation Manager: Leader ensures the classroom remains neat and
clean by monitoring trash on the floor, sink, trashcans, and the areas
around the trash cans.
23. Scribe: Leader records new vocabulary words into the appropriate
letter ring on our “Pockets Full of Words” wall.
24. Supplies Manager: Leader distributes and collects supplies when
needed and ensures that all students keep their supply bags neat and
orderly.
25. Technology Expert: Leader turns on and off the Active Board when
needed during class, ensures the Active Board is off at the end of the
day, and gets the LRES news channel ready each morning.
26. Telephone Operator: Leader answers the phone, takes messages, and
helps classmates make outgoing calls.
