Louisiana Tracking of Time Services TOTS Equipment Installation Purpose: To go over what is needed in order to have the equipment installed in Child Care Centers, Family Day Care Home and Military Providers (Class A, M, R) What to expect An ACS subcontractor, Media Riders, Inc., will be contacting you to set up a date & time for the install Once onsite, the install will take approximately 10 minutes to perform Following the install, training will begin immediately. Training will take approximately 30-45 minutes. The technicians will then go through a training checklist. What to consider There are 4 factors to consider for the installation of the equipment: Dial Up using telephone line for access Broadband or DSL for access to the internet Placement Requirements Refer to the Installation Guidelines Handout Dial Up Option The dial up option is used when a simple analog phone connection can be made. This connection can either be made at a wall jack or run through the back of a fax machine Wall Data Port Telephone Jack Dial-Up Option - Continued Factors to consider: Multi Line phones that require user to press a line button to utilize an open line can not be used Dial Prefixes, must be known when installing Connection speed is relatively quick, takes about 20 seconds per transaction Internet Options The internet option is used when a high speed connection can be found and is available. Typically connections can be found either on the wall jack or open port on a hub or router. Data Hub/Router Wall Data Port Internet Options Continued Factors to consider: Firewalls No Open ports or jacks DSL connections Connection speed is very fast, just a matter of seconds Internet Requirements If your network has firewalls or security in place, there are several requirements that must be done prior to our visit that will allow for a successful installation The following ports will need to be opened: Host Port # 60130 Download Port # 8013 The terminal will also need to connect to the host address at: pos.acs-inc.com For providers with a technical technology staff person refer this information to them. Otherwise providers may contact their internet service provider Consider best location to place equipment Optimum placement would be where the parents bring their children in and out of the center. An Open Phone jack or internet connection (power source) must be within 6 feet of the equipment in order to install Frequently Asked Questions 1. Will we be given a choice on install Date & Time? Yes, there is a small window for variation in the schedule. Depending on your location, it may be limited. 2. Will the technician know information pertaining to the program? No, the technician will only train on terminal functionality. 3. How many terminals can I get? You get 1 terminal for every 40 children, so 1-40=1, 41-80=2, etc. 4. How can we test our phone line to be sure that the terminal will connect properly? You can test by dialing 1-866-386-6158. Frequently Asked Questions 5. Will the technician be able to run cabling to get the terminal to the desired location? The technician will only run the 6’ of cord that they have with them. 6. What if I want to have equipment installed in another room requiring a longer cord or new wall jack? Any additional cabling and or customization must be done by the provider prior to the installation appointment. 7. Do I have to pay for the equipment ? No, unless it is lost, intentionally broken, or not returned if you discontinue using it. 8. Who do we call if I need to schedule or reschedule an installation appointment?
