Acrostic poem: Definition • An acrostic poem uses the letters in a topic word to begin each line. • All the lines of the poem should tell more about or describe the topic word. • This verse is usually unrhymed. • Acrostic poetry can be about ANYTHING!! Here’s an example: Really wet outside Always remember your umbrella I love rainy days Need my rain boots Another example… Chewy or soft Appetizing Never fails to cheer you up Delicious Yummy Another example… Laughing at every joke. Over all the bad things. Very best relationship. Eternal.
