4000/8000 series:
 Lift the top door

Replace toner cartridge

Pull toner strip if any

Close top door
9000 series:
 Open the front door

Pull down the blue lever

Replace cartridge

Pull up the blue lever

Close front door



The printer will often know where the jam is
located.
The vast majority of jams will occur
underneath the toner cartridge.
The paper trays are also known to jam
frequently.

Smudged pages
◦ A new cartridge sometimes fixes this
◦ If not, a new fuser installation is required

Unable to print
◦ Various reasons: network-related, software
problem, toner required, printer is off

Faded pages
◦ This often indicates a new cartridge is needed

Powerpoint Slides
◦ Full-sized powerpoint pages will take a long time to
print, sometimes taking over 30-60 seconds per
slide.

Adobe PDF files
◦ Will sometimes not print from the internet unless
they are saved locally first.

Gibberish pages
◦ Usually caused by printing from a file with a long
name
◦ Also occurs when printing directly from the internet
or blackboard

Configuration Page
◦ Click the menu button until you see “Information
Menu”
◦ Use arrow keys to find “Configuration Page”
◦ Click “Select” button to print

Supplies Status Page
◦ Find “Supplies Status” within the “Information Menu”
◦ Click “Select” button to print
