Kurs i vetenskapsteori för humaniora och samhällsvetenskap, avancerad nivå IKK ger under våren en kurs i vetenskapsteori för humaniora och samhällsvetenskap på
avancerad nivå, lämplig för doktorander och studenter på avancerad nivå inom något av de
humanistiska eller samhällsvetenskapliga ämnesområdena. Kursen leds av gästlektorn i filosofi,
Francoise Monnoyeur-Broitman, och tar upp ämnen som:
•
Frågor om vad vetenskap är, och eventuella skillnader mellan vetenskap och
pseudovetenskap
•
Olika sätt att betrakta vetenskaplig metod, särskilt i ett historiskt perspektiv, från antiken
och framåt
•
Frågor om förhållandet mellan vetenskap och teknik
•
Frågor om förhållandet mellan naturvetenskapen och humaniora och
samhällsvetenskapen, och den därmed förbundna frågan om förhållandet mellan dessa
discipliners metoder Kris och framåtskridande inom vetenskapen
•
Kris och framåtskridande inom vetenskapen
•
en analys av tekniker och metoder som är gemensamma för konst och vetenskap
•
Förhållandet mellan biologiska teorier och normativa utsagor om hur människans tillvaro
bör organiseras – kan det finnas en vetenskaplig vägledning för etiken?
•
Vilka typer av metoder och teorier kan krävas för att få kunskaper om mänskligt
medvetande?
Kursen bygger på ett aktivt deltagande från deltagande studenter.

Advanced level course in the philosophy of science for the humanities and social sciences IKK will this spring give an advanced level course in the philosophy of science for the
humanities and social sciences, suitable for doctoral students and master degree students in the
humanities and social sciences. The course is led by the guest lecturer in philosophy, Francoise
Monnoyeur-Broitman, and covers questions as:
•
Questions about what science is, and possible differences between science and
pseudoscience
•
Different ways to conceive of scientific method, especially in a historical perspective,
from antiquity onwards
•
Questions about the relation between science and technology
•
Questions about the relationship between the natural sciences and the humanities and
social sciences, and the connected question about the relations between the methods used
in these disciplines
•
Crisis and progress in science
•
An analysis of common technics and methods in art and science
•
The relations between biological theories and normative statements about the
organization of human affairs – can ethics be grounded in science?
•
What kinds of methods and theories can be required to achieve knowledge about human
minds?
The course, which is given in English, assumes an active participation and involvement by the
students.
