•Stations left open or barricaded and fire alarms activated
•Security codes changed / infra red eyes covered
•Private security guards abused
•Non striking staff filmed and details uploaded on public media sites
•EFCC crews pursued to incidents and jeered at whilst trying to perform role
•Appliances attacked and malicious 999 calls made

Post action lessons learnt for
LFB prior to second strike
•EFCC crews to RVP on retail areas supported by local police prior to occupation of hubs
•Primary and secondary fallback locations identified
•EFCC appliances fitted with CCTV
•Bespoke radio channel introduced
•Call filtering and interrogation of call origin
•Greater staff presence in the BCC for resilience purposes
•Introduction of electronic key safes at all sites

Second period of industrial action
1 November 2010 – 10:00 – 18:00hrs
•A more robust approach by police mobile video units and increased patrols
•A greater managerial resilience in the area hubs and at the BCC
•A marked reduction in the number of fire calls from the public during this period due to LFB media campaign of staying safe and promoting confidence in EFCC capability

LFB response prior to planned strike on the 5 November
•High court injunction granted
•Provision of accommodation for non striking staff to maintain service delivery and support EFCC in the event of the planned 24hr walkout by the FBU.
