High School Cyber Defense Need?
“Motivating young people to be better citizens”
CyberPatriot is the premiere national high
school cyber defense competition created to
inspire high school students toward careers
in cybersecurity or other science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
disciplines critical to our nation’s future.
America's economic prosperity in the 21st
century will depend on cyber security …
this is also a matter of public safety and national
security.
… we will begin a national campaign to promote
cyber security awareness and digital literacy
from our boardrooms to our classrooms, and to
build a digital workforce for the 21st century. 14 14
 President Barack Obama, 29 May 2009
