universities use Mango and others • Select and implement shared, statewide discovery tool • Discovery Tool Selection Task Force underway: – – – – RFI released to Members Council in mid-May RFI released to vendors in June Vendor demos in July Recommendation in early fall Single ILS 15 • Currently on separate systems (both operating Aleph) • Select and implement single, next-generation ILS • Next steps: – Aleph platform consolidation – Marketplace scan – Next-generation ILS Task Force Statewide E-Resource Licensing 16 • Colleges and universities currently have separate processes • Establish statewide process for acquiring eresources (from FLVC funds and group licensing) • Distance learning resources now in the mix • Collections/E-Resources Licensing Task Force E-Resources Task Force 17 April: E-resources survey May: Analyze results, gather pricing, create scenarios June 3: Members Council reviews and recommends scenario June 12: Board approval Single Help Desk 18 • Disparate help desk processes and support currently exist • Consolidate into a single help desk for all FLVC customers and services, using next-generation customer relationship management software • Next steps: – Consolidate all distance learning and advising support services – Consolidate help desk systems into CRM – Consolidate university library support services Common Digital Platform 19 • FLVC currently supports multiple platforms • Establish single platform for all library needs • Next steps: – Continue development of Islandora – Create a platform evaluation – Work with Digital Initiatives Standing Committee to coordinate platform capabilities with needs – Work with Members Council to determine library needs Florida Academic Repository (FLARE) 20 • Create shared storage for commonly held materials • Next steps: – Adapt university Aleph software during spring/summer 2013 – Full functionality available in summer 2013 – Continue to work with UF and Statewide Storage Task Force Other Key Initiatives 21 • Distance learning course catalog • Enhanced FLVC.org site • College and Career Readiness Evaluation Moving Forward Key Planning Dates 23 May 13 FLVC develops proposed annual goals and project list for 2013-14 May 21 Members Council on Distance Learning and Student Services meets;
