French borrowings in English

The object of research is the English language.
The subject of research is French borrowings of English.
The purpose of the work is to learn about French borrowings in
English and learn about their main aspects.
To achieve this goal the following tasks were set:
1.Identify the role of borrowings and the reasons for their occurrence.
2.To define the classification of borrowings.
3.To consider the stages of French borrowings in the English
language.
4.Identify the types of French borrowings in English.
The material for the study were scientific articles and works.
Structure of the work: the work consists of an introduction, two
chapters, conclusions and a list of references.
Borrowing occurs in most cases
due to the fact that different
nations are in contact at the
linguistic, economic and political
level.
Borrowing and word formation are based on
the creation of new lexical units in the
lexical-semantic system of a given
language, and the change of meaning is
based on the adaptation of semantic
content.
Borrowings
There are two types of borrowing - calculation and
material borrowing.
In languages most often borrowed words, less often phraseological and syntactic expressions.
An important reason for the emergence of borrowing is the
stratification of classes of people in the historical past of
mankind.
Another reason for the rest can be called the development of
various professions at different times of the historical
development of the world.
Also, the classification of
borrowings from different
languages includes two types
of borrowings - direct and
indirect.
Also, many researchers and scholars
distinguish two ways of getting borrowings
into the native language - oral and written
way.

French language in relation to the English

The enrichment of the English language was due to the fact
that the Normans began to introduce new spheres of life,
which at that time were completely unknown to the English.
French even became the state language for some time. The
consequence of this was that all documents were written
exclusively in this language.
Conclusion:
The rapid development of science and technology was
accompanied by the emergence of tens of thousands of
words that expressed new concepts.
Nowadays, more and more words from the French language
start to appear in English, these words are connected with
everyday life of people, political system of the state, sports
and recreation.
Most of the borrowings from the French language were
caused historically.
