A PROJECT PROPOSAL TO A GULAYAN SA PAARALAN Ana Liza M. Villanueva Pawa Elementary School Pawa Legazpi City (Albay) 1. INTRODUCTION: One of the thrust of the Department of Education (DepEd) is to strengthen and intensify the implementation of the Gulayan sa Paaralan Project (GPP) in all public elementary and secondary schools to serve as food basket and have a ready source of vegetable for the school supplementary feeding program. according to the report of the Nutrition and Health Council, hunger and malnutrition are two main problems that really affect 19% or 3,268,000 families out of the 17, 400,000 families in the country due to lack of food to eat or money to buy food. Respectively in time of pandemic due to Covid-19, many people lost their jobs and had limited mobility. Meanwhile, our government is now strengthening the implementation of schoolcommunity food production under this program, which shall be tied-up with other concerned agencies. From these Pawa Elementary School is in dire need of manpower to sustain the Gulayan sa Paaralan Project. Then the coordinator, administrator and stakeholder of the school will be working hand to hand in order to sustain the needs of 72 SBFP recipients from Kinder to Grade VI. ESPENIDA Elementary School Principal I 0917706981 2. GENERAL STRATEGIES The school’s general strategies for the project are as follows; 1. Improving the vegetable gardens by grade level. 2. Purchasing good variety vegetable seeds. 3. Putting up of trellises. 4. Planting good varieties of vegetables. 5. Taking care of the plants. 6. Harvest and sell to support the financial needs of sustainable Gulayan sa Paaralan. OBJECTIVES: The following are the objectives for the realization of the project. At the end of the targeted implementation dates the following are achieved; 1. improved vegetable gardens by grade level. 2. purchased good variety of vegetable seeds. 3. put up trellises for perennial vine plants. 4. taking care of the vegetables/plants 4.harvested good quality vegetables and having good sales for the sustainability of Gulayan sa Paaralan. 3. DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR ACTIVITIES The Gulayan sa Paaralan coordinator and school head together with the internal and external stakeholders will meet to talk about the different activities to be undertaken during the implementation of the program. 4.1. Mobilization and Organizing Implementation 4.1.1. Inform the parents and teachers about the Grant. Tell the coverage of expenditure to be undertaken. 4.1.2. Create working committees needed. 4.1.3. Create guidelines for the proper implementation of the project. 4.2. Implementation of the Project 4.2.1. Each class shall work with the HRPTA for the realization of the above cited objectives. 4.3. Internal Monitoring & Evaluation The programs/ activities shall be monitored by each of the chairman of the different committees with the supervision of the School Head. All activities shall be documented supported with photos. The class who harvested the highest volume shall be awarded with certificate of recognition. 5.
