From pioneer to chain director
De Groene Weg was established in 1981, inspired by a
commitment to animal welfare and to the environment,
but mainly as a result of a wish to make delicious meat
products. The organic meat market has now come of age
and our products match a lifestyle that appeals to lots
of consumers nowadays. This is a development to which
De Groene Weg has made a significant contribution and
we are now a very well-known name in the organic meat
market.
De Groene Weg has become a chain partner for both
traditional butcheries as well as for supermarkets,
foodservice companies and the food-processing industry.
Coordinating and optimising the organic beef and pork
chain has now become an important aspect. De Groene
Weg acts as the chain director, ensuring that all the links
in the production chain are optimally connected.
And of course, this is based on the principles of respect
for people, animals and the environment, and our passion
for tasty organic meat.

Top of the sustainability pyramid
De Groene Weg believes that farm animals should
have sufficient space, outdoor air and organic feed
to enable them to develop naturally and at their own
pace, without making use of artificial fertilisers,
chemical pesticides or the preventative administration
of medication. This environment is assured by
regulations and independent checks and audits.
Furthermore, it is De Groene Weg’s ambition to
operate at the top of the sustainability pyramid with
our organic meat. All these pre-conditions place high
requirements on the professionalism of farmers,
butchers and their suppliers.
Organic farming
De Groene Weg has a unique partnership with its
suppliers. Since our relationships with our farmers form
the basis for our success, De Groene Weg works together
intensively with VBV, a collective organisation of Dutch
organic pig farmers, focusing on the continuity of the
sector in the long term. This collective cooperation has
also resulted in additional conditions being formulated to
be able to better react to market requirements. Building
on a sustainable sales chain together, with the higher
costs of production of organic meat being compensated
elsewhere in the chain, enables our farmers to work on
the well-being of their animals and the sustainable
preservation of the landscape on, and around, their farms
on a daily basis.
Organic meat specialist
De Groene Weg is a reliable player in the organic meat
chain. This autonomous company has its registered
headquarters in Groenlo; in the east of the Netherlands.
De Groene Weg specialises in processing and selling
organic pork and beef.
Range
De Groene Weg has an extensive range of beef and pork
products. We offer a wide range of meat and processed
meat to industrial customers, the retail trade, the food
service industry and our franchise butchers. As standard,
our products are supplied in the most common cuts.
The following pages show our selection of cuts of beef
and pork. If you have any special wishes please let us
know. We are always happy to help you select those
products that best suit your requirements. Please feel free
