Resolution No. 19
A Resolution encouraging Austin Peay State University Student Government Association
to request that APSU build garbage dumpster container covers for the two garbage
dumpsters near the APSU Bookstore.
WHEREAS, SGA exists "to serve as the voice of the students, and to make sure their
thoughts and needs are heard and addressed to increase their quality of life”.
WHEREAS, students have expressed concerns and displeasures with this particular area
being one of the liveliest areas on campus. It would help the overall aesthetics of campus
if these dumpsters had some sort of cover.
WHEREAS, with many potential new students traveling through this area and the Govs
Ambassadors busy touring people too it would be in Austin Peay’s best interest to
improve the look of the dumpsters which would improve the look of this area.
WHEREAS, by installing the dumpster covers on these two trash units it will improve the
heart of the campus. It will also help keep the smell of trash dumpsters more confined to
this particular area.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 64TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
AUSTIN PEAY STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION
THAT:
Section 1: Upon passage of this Resolution, the Student Government Association will
issue a formal recommendation to the Vice President of Finance and the Physical Plant to
investigate the plausibility of installing Dumpster Covers over these two trash dumpster
units.
