Associated Student Body: Meg Rothi OUTCOME/FOLLOW UP Motion to approve minutes (Halvorson/ Barembaum) passed unanimously. Deadline for application is February 15, 2007. If awarded, the project will begin immediately and be completed within a year. Deadline is January 24, 2007. Motion to approve authorization (Halvorson/ Smith) passed unanimously. Motion to approve authorization (Cucovatz/ Kawa) passed unanimously. ICC pre-semester planning meeting on Wednesday; Club Rush, February 1314; re-write of the Constitution is complete; ASB retreat, February 1; establishing supreme court participants; and creating ASB recruitment videos. 2. Continuing Education: Jose Vargas Paul Amorino’s retirement celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24. Effective February 1, Rose Gee will be serving as Interim Dean. SB361, Title V emergency regulations – working to make certain that all courses are in compliance. Hope to place new courses on board agenda in February. 3. Classified Advisory Group: Diane Durdella Next meeting is Tuesday, February 6. Two upcoming fundraisers: parking lot raffle and cookbook sales. 4. Communications: AnnMarie Librescu All ads are running or have run for spring enrollment recruitment; next edition of SCCourier - February; next edition of SCConnections – February. Special events: TrigStar in March; tree planting in the Demonstration Garden sometime around Arbor Day; Cash for College; Orange Business News article for Continuing Education; banner on corner of Chapman and Jamboree; and banner at Orange Circle (Outreach). 5. Technology: Curt Childress No report. Classified positions approved at Monday’s Chancellor’s Cabinet: Administrative Secretary (3) – Financial Aid, Library, Cont Ed Dean; Full-time Trainer – athletics. 6. Budget/SAFE Council: Steve Kawa Project on campus to tie all alarm panels together (voice and fire systems). Renovating half of parking lot one during the end of flex week. Held bid walk for the math and science building – bids are due March 1. Recommendation should go to the board on March 12, with construction beginning in April. First meeting regarding OEC sidewalk is tomorrow, 1/24. 7. Curriculum and Instruction Council: Linda Cucovatz No meeting has occurred during the intersession. A major report to the Chancellor’s Office has been completed. 8. Academic Affairs: Mary Halvorson Meeting today regarding instructional equipment money. A variety of departments have assisted with funding equipment requests in order to stretch these dollars. 9. Student Success Council/Student Services: John Hernandez Very successful in-service event last Friday for continuing student learning outcomes assessment. Eleven student success mini-grants were awarded. Financial Aid and Outreach are continuing off-campus recruitment presentations. 10. Educational Master Plan Council/Academic Senate: Rosi Enriquez Senate retreat scheduled for January 30. First senate meeting is set for February 6. Encouraged everyone to continue updating DDPs. 11. President: Jose Vargas Reminder: Professional development program – February 2, Santa Ana College. Contact Rosi Enriquez if a department needs assistance writing their narrative for the 5-year plan.
