1.
Project Timelines
- Zak Ovadia gave an overview of the current planned projects on campus.
- Proceeding with a program for a new dining facility.
2.
JJ Daniel Hall (Building 1)
- The last phase, which is the President’s Suite, which will start on October 8. The
President’s Conference Room will be relocated to the first floor during renovation.
- The Graduate School will be moving in on October 14.
3.
Student Wellness and Sports Education
- Fencing will be put up the last week of December with demolition of the current Dottie
Dorian Center in January.
4.
Science and Humanities Building
- Under construction – currently framing the second floor. A bid package for the building
envelope will be issued soon.
- Project is over budget but confident adjustments can be made to meet the budget.
5.
Education Building: DRC, OCT, Veterans Services and Leadership Institute Offices
- 50% construction documents are currently being reviewed.
- There were 28 submissions for Construction Manager. The committee will meet on
October 15 and shortlist the firms.
6.
Science & Engineering Remedial Work
- The GMP was received at $3.2M.
- The bid package to re-roof the building went out this week.
- Work should start in mid-November. There should be no significant impact on inside
activities.
- Zak Ovadia will forward the renovation schedule to Deb Kaye in 2 weeks to determine
any issues with classrooms.
7.
Building 9 – 2nd Floor – History
- General Counsel is currently reviewing an amendment from Elkins.
- Mauricio Gonzalez will follow up on a dedicated classroom space requested by the
ROTC.
8.
Art & Design Building Program
- A programming meeting will be scheduled within 2 weeks.
9.
Environmental Center – Space in Building 1
- The Environmental Center has requested space in Building 1 (the former IR space on the
2nd floor).
- Mark Workman motioned to approve the request. Lance Taylor seconded the motion –
motion was approved.
10.
Civic Council – UNF Hall
- The Jacksonville Civic Council has requested space for one of their members, Don Shea,
for two offices. He is being paid through a grant with ORSP.
- Len Roberson motioned to approve 2 offices in the former Graduate School space in
UNF Hall with a second by Mauricio Gonzalez. The motion passed.
