MINUTES

Building 14
 Dept of Communications
- The department should be moving in July.
3.
UNF Hall
 Finishing minor renovations.
4.
JJ Daniel Hall (Building 1)
 Human Resources will temporarily move in June in order to renovate the rest of
their space.
 CCI and Undergraduate Studies will move in on June 15.
5.
Student Wellness and Sports Education
 Construction should be starting by January 2011
 The cost for one basketball court would be an additional $2.9M.
6.
Science and Humanities Building
 Revised Parking – Lot 7
- The new Lot 7 should be completed the first week of July. Once completed,
the building construction will start.
7.
Campus Wide Master Plan
 The last meeting was on May 17. There is a slight delay in finalizing the
document as the BOT will discuss at their November workshop.
 Final approval is expected at the January 2011 BOT meeting.

Duplicating Building
 This is completed except for one additional lock. Items currently stored will be
moved out.
9.
Classroom Space – Presentation for Faculty
 Len Roberson presented the revised Classroom Growth Chart showing that the
number of general purpose classrooms has increased by 11 since 2008, including
an additional 565 seats. Three 210 labs have been lost but most of them have
converted to other types of labs.
 A listing of 220/250 labs will be added to the list provided. This includes
research and other labs.
 The completed list will be shared with the faculty in the fall.

Building 9
 ROTC
- The ROTC group has moved in to the new space.
 Veteran’s Space
- John Hale will follow up regarding the painting and moving timeline.
 History
- Working on the program to partially renovate the second floor.
11.
Request Space for Athletic Academic Support
 Tom Serwatka motioned to temporarily move an Athletic support unit to Building
9 (rooms 1433, 1434, 1437, 1438). Mauricio Gonzalez seconded the motion and
the motion was approved.
12.
Building 8 – Retail Space: Greek Shipping Company
 The Greek Shipping Company is interested in leasing one of the retail spaces in
Building 8. The store sells Greek apparel and novelties and also acts as a Postal
Store. They will also handle faxing and shipping for the campus.
13.
Graduate School
 Len Roberson proposed moving the Graduate School back to the main campus.
There has been a significant decrease in student traffic coming into the Graduate
School since the move to UNF Hall.
 Tom Serwatka motioned to move the Graduate School to the former A&F Suite in
Building 1. Mauricio Gonzalez seconded the motion and the motion passed. The
move will occur after two satellite offices have been built. The suite will be
carpeted and repainted.
14.
DRC Building including OCT and Veterans Services
 The current estimate is $5.7M. The remaining monies needed can be identified.
The program and design are in progress with the DRC located on the 1st floor and
the OCT and Veteran’s Services located on the 2nd floor.
