Deans’ Meeting Agenda April 7, 2015 1 – 3 pm – Crying Wolf Room AGENDA ITEMS 1. Institutional Research update Doug Olney Doug shared numbers about students, declared majors, number of credits completed within the major and how that correlates with time to degree. Data combined from three years. Indicates there is a correlation between the size of the major and time to degree. Discussion on how to decrease time to degree and factors that influence students’ decision to take additional credits as part of degree completion. 2. Student of Concern Protocol/Policy Jim Continued conversation about protocol for addressing concerns with student behavior that may be perceived as threatening. Need for point person/case worker to close the loop in these cases? Requested suggestions for adding additional steps to the policy. 3. New HLC requirement Martin What is the impact to the University of this proposed requirement? i.e. Elimination of grad programs, problems with grad ed programs. We will be forwarding concerns to MnSCU to bring forward to HLC. 4. Transfer Equivalencies Attachment 1 Patrick Suggested changes to form that would make course equivalencies standard in DARS unless there is rationale to not change this to a permanent equivalent.
