Concern regarding graffiti on campus at El Camino: o Humanities bathroom – etching on mirror, faucet, and bathroom stalls. o Fine Arts bathroom have lots of art graffiti. o New trend – stickers on stop signs and parking signs. Jo Ann: Handout from the Management Forum regarding planning was passed out. Please remember to read the handout and make sure that the strategic initiative becomes a goal. Board Meeting on October 18, will be held in the Haag Recital Hall. November 8th & 9th the Board of Governors will hold their meeting at ECC. Included in this meeting will be a tour of the Compton campus. o ECC Facilities might want to showcase an area. Budget workshop will be held in November and due to logistical problems, it has been decided if Janice cannot attend that Babs and Tom C. will attend. Don’t know when the Accreditation team will come, maybe October or November. Get caught up on evaluations. It was decided that the Administrative Services staff meeting are being changed from Tuesday’s @ 8:00 to Thursday’s @ 8:30. Committee Reports/Division Issues: Janice: Working on the 311 report. Auditors will be here next week. Babs: Done with the Bond fund equipment reconciliation. Next step is for Facilities and ITS to identify the equipment and tag it. Mike: Dealing with two Human Resource issues. Working with POST on some Police Academy issues. All plans for the Board Meeting are set. Andy: Receiving textbook order from faculty for the winter and spring session. Sales are down due to external impact. Some possible reasons: Some book publishers are selling directly to the end user. The move back and forth has affected sales. Since vending machines for scantron has been installed in the library, the sales at the bookstore for candy have gone down. Bob: Met with John and Francisco yesterday on the bond equipment list and to further understand the impact it will have on Facilities, individual meeting with the deans have been scheduled to go over the specified equipment. Some of the items classified as equipment should be classified as site and building improvement. Meeting with LPA regarding the Humanities soil. Jo Ann requested that LPA provide their recommendation in writing and on their letterhead. Meeting with Dr. Arce, Dean Rodriguez, A. Lovell, T. Brown, TBP Architect and Bovis on the Shop allocation by program. Working with HMC on the PE complex to define the building area. Should be completed by mid November. LPA Architect for the Stadium/Track project will go to the November Board. Going to the CCFC with Tom Brown on Nov 9th & 10th. On vacation the week of October 25th. Bruce: Air quality samples are being taken from first, second and third floor of the Humanities building. Some of the faculty from Humanities is moved into Administration 131. Punch list done for the bookstore building. Carpet has been ordered last week but is pending in Purchasing. Phase 3 project for fire line between the Social Science and Behavioral Art building is having some difficulty due to unknown issues. All building that were on a separate boiler and chillers have been hooked up to the central plant. Before the electrical conversion takes place the old sub-station will be off Edison. Next week going for a night walk with the electrical supervisor. Tom Brown: Social Science construction is on schedule, within budget and on time. Punch list for the Humanities Plaza is done. TO DO LIST: 1. 2. 3. 4. Janice needs to send an update on Fund 14 & 15. Check and see if equipment tags can be alpha numeric. Tom Connolly needs to track adjunct faculty salary by area for the President. Tom Brown needs to provide an informational paragraph on Recycling at ECC. Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
