People credited with this unit standard are able to prepare to
carry out a visual shade check on textiles, and assess sample
shade.

Act 1992.

Definition
Workplace procedures refer to the verbal or documented procedures for performing
activities including health and safety, operational, environmental and quality
management requirements. They refer to manuals, manufacturer's specification,
codes of practice, or policy statements.

Standard shade sample is available and in condition required by workplace
procedures.

Sample for assessment is prepared according to workplace procedures.

Sample for assessment is viewed under different illuminants to establish that
metamerism between the standard and the sample does not occur.
