People assessed as competent in this unit standard are able to attend functions on behalf of the organisation and make speeches, deliver presentations, and enhance the image and profile of the organisation. Performance criteria 1.1 Opportunities to act as an ambassador are identified and actioned wherever possible. Range 1.2 Authority to represent the organisation is obtained from the correct source prior to event commencement. Range 1.3 authority – written, verbal, memo, letter, fax; correct source – manager, CEO, department or divisional head, personnel responsible for the image and profile of the organisation. Scheduled appointments to attend events are kept and ambassador's arrival is at the agreed time and place. Range 1.4 customer on or off job, conferences, trade shows, inter-company, formal occasions, personal networks, community and charity meetings or events. events – conferences, trade shows, formal occasions, social occasions, meetings. Event hosts are advised in a format and timeframe that meet the needs of the host, if the ambassador is unable to attend an event or accept an invitation to an event. Range formats – telephone, written correspondence, letter, memo, fax, formal or informal. Element 2 Act as an ambassador. Performance criteria 2.1 Ambassador's knowledge of the organisation and its business activity is current, accurate, and sufficient to meet the perceived needs of the event. Range 2.3 Information obtained as a result of being an ambassador is assembled in a concise and legible manner, and relevant parties are informed in a format and in a timeframe that meets their needs. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP).
