Definitions
Company procedures refer to the documented methods for performing work activities
and include health and safety, environmental, quality management requirements and
site requirements. They may refer to manuals, codes of practice, or policy
statements.

Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) refers to an informational document provided by
the manufacturer regarding the safety and handling procedures and precautions for
materials used in the workplace.
PPE refers to personal protective equipment.
Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Locate and explain documentation for a gas industry organisation.
Range
includes – incident reports, hazard identification, PPE check sheet, work orders;
may include but is not limited to – vendor information, forms, standard operating
procedures, MSDS, topographical maps, alignment sheets, purchase orders,
work permits, plant release, maintenance checklist.
Performance criteria
1.1
Documentation is located and interpreted in accordance with site requirements
and company procedures.
1.2
Documentation is explained in terms of its purpose.

Complete documentation for a gas industry organisation.

Documentation is completed in accordance with company procedures.

Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
